Wedding flowers trends. Weddings 2019/2020

For some time now “and still very present for Summer 2018” the main colour was, and to a point still is, soft pinks and pastels colours onto peachy pink, soft rose gold, etc. We have created many floral decors this year using soft pink open, scented garden roses with selected summer flowers in pink to palest of pink colours. The All white colour scheme for weddings is still very popular and I believe will not go anywhere soon, possibly with some extra detail of silver Eucalyptus or Olive foliage’s added.

I believe the main trends coming our way for weddings to be:

- Jewels I call it Jewels as I see a strong incline in use of Jewel colours in Interiors, fashion and also now in wedding flowers.

I see generous size loos and natural bouquets with a mix of local grown flowers as well as the most exotic import flowers such as the South African Protea flower.

- Yellow Polka dot I call this trend Yellow Polka Dot as the style I see coming in for weddings is best described by the Wikipedia description; Polka dot is a pattern of an array of large filled circles of same size. Polka dots are most commonly seen on children’s clothing, toys and furniture.

This to me shows a joyful, fun-filled display off multi coloured flowers against one dominant colour. I could see a large , compact shaped bouquet with lots of bright yellow blooms with details of pop-colour in blue, hot-pink, lime green……..

This would appeal to the fun loving bride. I’m very excited to have two brides booked, one for end of this year and one for spring 2019 wearing polka dot dresses. ( Follow me on Instagram – they’ll be fab)

- Luxurious weddings on the beach / in the wood This is a style that is already see here but will grow big for weddings 2019. I would like to describe the feeling of the wedding before talking about the florals; I bride walking bare-feet on the beach wearing a soft flowing, elegant feminine dress to join her guests on a long table on the beach dressed with a combination of natural drift wood, Chrystal glasses, silver candleholders and white marble base-plates. I see this mix of styles between very traditionally luxurious elements such as Chrystal glassware, etc and soft natural elements. The flowers for these weddings I see with lots of soft and flowing foliage’s, such a Eucalyptus, Olive wood, grasses, etc. and mainly small and delicate white and pale green blooms as well as pure white open roses.
