A very Christmas Wedding

It is the night before your wedding and all is in place

Are people who love you with smiles on their face

The flowers are ready, the venue perfection

To host as you pledge your love and affection

Attendants are chosen and will be finely dressed

It is time that St. Nick your wedding did bless

May you agree with each other in all things that matter

May you be filled with love, this day and ever after

May hope spring eternal as you plot your new life

May you have peace, joy and passion as husband and wife

May you find in each other faith and love that is true

May you be kind and gentle, and generous, too

May your long lives be healthy and filled with success

May your marriage and family be abundantly blessed

Getting married at Christmas time is a very desirable idea for many couples every year.

Friends and family are home from far away places to celebrate the Christmas with their family.

Churches, hotels and other wedding venues are decorated with the most wonderful and festive décor all around.

Everyone is glowing in the spirit of Christmas.

I often get asked what is the best choice of flowers for a Christmas wedding,

And for those who know me understand the answer to this question can be a long one that often ends with;

But in the end it’s your wedding and whatever makes you both happy is what you should do.

However this is in my mind one of the most Christmas – themed wedding flowers I have made in a long time.

It starts with plenty of evergreens such as the dark green ruscus foliage and the silver grey, Irish grown Eucalyptus foliage.

Evergreens are very important for me this time of year as this symbolises to me that there is life and energy stored in the trees to overcome the cold winter and carry us comfortably into the spring.

With this there are also berries and that symbolise saved food to get us through the winter.

Have a look at the stunning burgundy red tiny Skimmia berries.

These is the element of scent, important in any wedding bouquet.

Here in this Christmas bouquet I have chosen for the following bouquet of scents:

- The warm scent of the Eucalyptus leaves

- The soft woody and wintery scent of the white wax flowers

- The Sweet scent of the white Freesia’s and

- The warm scent of spring that comes from the white broom

The deep red roses we used in these bouquets are the Naomi rose. It’s possibly the very best of the roses available right now and together with the red berries of the Skimmia and small details of red on the stems and foliage of some of the winter flowers we used in this bouquet will truly warm everyone’s hearth.
